Complete the eyestalk crochet instructions up to the connection step. Proceed with adding sensors.

Adding Sensors

First, solder a length of wire (at least as long as the arm spring is tall) to one end of each photo resistor. On one of these photo resistors, solder another wire to the other lead. If you have not completed the base wiring instructions, refer to the soldering guide (https://www.makerspaces.com/how-to-solder/).

Next, feed the lengths of wire into the eye and out the back. Put the wires in on four sides of the pupil, and the extra wire on the photo resistor with two wires into the center of the pupil. Carefully pull them out below the eighth row. This is important to hide the wires when the body of the skin is connected.

Gently pull the wires down until only the photo resistors are visible from the front. Using pliers, wrap the remaining legs on the four photo-resistors with one wire around the center leg of the other photo-resistor. Make sure this connection is tight to prevent sensor malfunction. Finally, press the wires and leads down as much as possible to make them less noticeable. Also arrange the photo resistor tops to be approximately flat and unobstructed. You can now follow the connection stage from the crochet instructions, making sure to run the wires inside the crochet skin.

Now we will wire the circuit needed to read the light level. Follow the wiring diagram below. Refer to the wiring instructions for an explanation of how breadboards work in order to better understand or debug.
